Avoca Beach and North Avoca Beach
Avoca Beach and North Avoca Beach sit at the lower end of the NSW Central Coast between two dominating rocky headlands with Terrigal Beach and Copacabana on either side.

Only an hour's drive from Sydney and Newcastle on the F3 freeway, Avoca Beach is known for its wide, sandy beaches boarded by tree lined hills and the avoca accommodation on offer. It is blessed with an enviable year-round, enjoyable climate. The Central Coast is a great place to find some of the worlds most beautiful beaches and waterways where you can enjoy all sorts of water sports. The hinterland provides spectacular scenic walks within a very shot distance from the coast.

The size and experience level of the surf varies from one end of Avoca Beach to the other and will suit both the novice as well as the more experienced surfer. It is also the perfect location for those who want to indulge in a spot of fishing or simply swimming.

Bouddi National Park stretches from Macmasters Beach to Box Head and includes several secluded beaches. You can follow the paths through the quiet scenery of the hinterland and scrub and enjoy the cool, refreshing rainforests even in the warmer months. You can also try your hand at kayaking, sailing or windsurfing on the freshwater Avoca Lake where you can even hire aqua-bikes. A box lunch and a chilled bottle or two would make for the perfect picnic on the grassy lake shores.

Our Central Coast whale watching is world famous. Between June and November of each year the great mammals migrate up and down the Australian coast and linger off the Central Coast where a number of whale watching boats follow the humpbacks as they majestically head to their favourite feeding and breeding grounds. Whale watching boats set off from Avoca's harbour each morning and afternoon. Don't forget to take your camera to capture these beautiful whales and dolphins as they play in our spectacular backyard.

Shopping abounds in Avoca. You'll find a great selection of boutiques, arcades and shopping centres. The coffees are a delight particularly as you take in the holiday atmosphere and savour the time to enjoy one or two.

For those who love attractions, there are many choices within a short drive from Avoca including Tree Top Adventure Park and Australian Reptile Park. Slide down hanging guide wires fifteen meters above the forest floor or walk across suspension bridges strung high up in the trees. Turtles, tortoises, lizards, snakes, crocodiles, cobras, pythons, scorpions and rap dancing spiders all abound within the reptile park.

After a day of surf, sun and fun, the cafes, restaurants and bars await you along with a range of night spots offering some great music. Avoca has something for every taste: afternoon tea by the sea, pizzas and pastas, crabs and oysters and seafood served with some of Australia's best wines. Any one of the alfresco cafes in Avoca can be the perfect place for you to enjoy a drink whilst you watch the waves as they crash onto the soft sands - or you may simply sit and plan what you will do the next day - if you feel like planning. After all, you will be on holiday.

Whether you are heading to the Central Coast with your other half for a weekend away or taking the whole family away for an adventurous holiday, Avoca and Avoca Beach will provide you with fun, adventure and memories to last a lifetime.
